Family Dentistry
Regular care from a family dentist in Gregory SD is critical for every member of your family. From infants cutting their first teeth to seniors at risk of losing their natural teeth, Dr. Hull and his team of skilled hygienists and assistants are here to ensure that your family enjoys good oral health throughout their lifespan.
What Types of Services Do Family Dentists Provide?
One of the most basic yet important services that Hull Dental Health provides is the biannual cleaning and exam. A hygienist completes several primary functions at this exam before you see a dentist.
These tasks include:
- Brushes and flosses your teeth.
- Scrapes plaque and tartar from your teeth or uses an electrosonic instrument to loosen them.
- Takes X-rays of your teeth and gums once a year.
- Polishes your teeth.
Once our hygienist finishes this portion of your cleaning and exam, Dr. Hull inspects your teeth and gums to determine if you have any oral health problems that require additional follow-up. For example, you may have tooth decay resulting in the need for a filling or a cracked tooth that needs a crown.
Fluoride Treatments and Dental Sealants
Most children need extra help keeping their teeth clean and reaching their back molar teeth when brushing. Fluoride, which Dr. Hull applies directly to the teeth, strengthens the enamel and helps to prevent tooth decay. Dental sealants form a seal on the back molar teeth that keeps plaque and bacteria from getting into pits, grooves, and fissures and between teeth.
Root Canal Therapy
When the pulp on the inside of a tooth chamber becomes inflamed, Dr. Hull needs to remove it during a root canal. He then places a crown on top of the treated tooth to guard against additional infections.
The above are just a handful of examples of services you can receive from a family dentist in Gregory SD. Please contact us with additional questions or to request an appointment.
